Why does it have to be surprising when its done in Africa and marketed by Africans? Yes, Africa is growing and that makes a good start into the right direction. If you are an online marketer like me, you surely don’t want to click on banners from your affiliates because it could lead you to being panelized. However, I like the innovation in most of these banners and you surely want to click and see where the banner may lead you.
I have seen good work from some money makers right from Africa, whose advertiser banners are interesting. The strength, commonly stated about the internet, of being globally usable makes banner advertising universal and difficult to separate by origin. Thus Africa can pace up without being singled out and the only determining factor for success is popularity, which is commonly known as traffic. The money makers I talk about in Africa only need traffic generating websites and they wont have reasons to pay you if nobody locates your site online.
On that ‘traffic’ note, I want to put it clear that any marketer needs more traffic than they do the nice banners. I also need more traffic for my website yeboyesafrica.com. These good banners that I admire are just useless if they are posted on poor traffic websites. Designs (appearance), size and quality don’t influence traffic, but only influence action from already available traffic.
