Articles can carry weight for those interested in creating real , targeted traffic to their websites, landing pages ,and blogs. Many have seen results from using article directories as their #1 form of article advertising. But for the most part actual article writing is the truest form of article advertising. In a sense, writing articles can create expert status for the internet marketer that wants to sell themself as someone that can be trusted in certain niches.

As people read your articles they get a sense that they are learning and being informed about a certain product before they decide to buy. And that feeling of being in control is optimal for consumers , even though they might not know much about the product or whatever the niche area might be. Creating articles is also your chance to presell prospects and get them ready to buy from you, instead of someone else. Someone that hasnt taken the time to inform them about the product, like you have. The ability to be patient with people as they search the internet looking for information, is what separates the successful marketers from the ones that usually end up giving up without making any sales.

Your Job As An Article Marketer

You have an end goal in mind as an Internet Marketer, to make sales. And ultimately, the percentages have proven that people do not buy products the first time they are introduced to them. When someone types in a search term for whatever they are interested in, they usually just want some information. And they usually want more than 1 source of information. And many times, thats all they want, at that time. With that in mind, you have to control the way in which you set up the sales process. And the way you write your article.

Your number one job when writing an article is to provide information. No selling. No trying to get them to buy your product. You cant even worry about swaying them in any way. You just tell them some simple facts about what they are looking for.

Doesnt sound like Article Advertising, does it?

But in the overall scheme of things , it is. Its just not the same type of advertising that we are used to. And that's because there are many subtle rules to using articles as a way to generate traffic and sales.

There is the article directory itself. The rules limit us to what the article can be about , what we can write, and even where our links lead to. The directories want us to provide their readers with unbiased information. No sales pages. And absolutely no links directed to affiliate websites. And in return, we get some real targeted traffic. Traffic, that if treated right, will ultimately turn into paying customers. And not only that, but we get to create prime backlinks to our websites. Most article directories have awesome rankings. And that means that when you link back to your website, you are creating as many high end backlinks as you want. So be patient and follow the rules, and it will payoff in more ways than 1.

The #1 Reason You Provide Information

You have followed the rules. You havnt even mentioned the fact that you sell a product , let alone the exact product the reader is looking for. The only thing you have done is show them the information they are looking for. But , you have showed them something else. You have showed them something that is a 100x more important than what they were looking for when they clicked on the link to your article. What is it? What did you show this unknown reader?

You showed this cherished , future buyer, that you are THE EXPERT when it comes to what they are looking for.

And that thought might not even have crossed their mind. At least not conciously. But a certain part of their mind realizes that you know what you are talking about. I know, it sounds kind of hokie. But many people have tested this exact formula. And it has been proven to be true. When you do nothing more than provide information, and do it well, with some real facts, without sounding like a salesman, people have no choice but to believe you. Why wouldnt they? You have done nothing more than try to help them.

And thats all they were looking for. And once you give someone what they are looking for, you gain trust. And trust is the only thing that stands between you and a ready buyer. After you have gained the trust of someone that is already looking to buy something, you simply need to lead them to the product. And they will follow you, because you are someone that knows what is best for the buyer.

So basically : ( Info + Expert) - Selling = TRUST

Its a simple formula. All thats left is to send people to the right places.

First stop should be your landing page. That is where you get the email address, so you can provide some more in depth info.You still want to hold off on selling.  ( Its O.K, its what Article Advertising is about).
