Are you a frustrated marketer? If yes, then I can understand how you are feeling right now. You are feeling frustrated at the lack of traffic to your website. You have tried all means of Internet marketing methods, but nothing seems to work. Your hits counter returns a zero reading day after day after day.
But you know that generating traffic to your site is very important to the livelihood of your online business. Without traffic, your business will die a slow and painful death.
As you know by now, most of the traffic generating methods available today requires some time to produce the desired results. It is like you are planting the seeds of traffic, and it will take some time before they can bear some fruits.
But you cannot afford to wait any longer, because your business is dying, and you are getting really frustrated and desperate. Desperate time calls for desperate measures, so you go for the next best solution: buying traffic. There is absolutely nothing wrong here, because buying traffic promises the delivery of a good amount of traffic to your website very quickly.
However, buying traffic should not always be your go-to solution, because there are advantages and disadvantage of this Internet marketing method, as outlined below.
Advantages of buying traffic
i.) Instant website visitors You would get visitors to your website almost instantly. There is no waiting whatsoever. There is no need to wait for the search engine spiders to index your site to generate the kind of traffic you need. By buying traffic, you would achieve your ultimate aim: to attract visitors to your site immediately.
ii.) It doesn't cost you an arm or a leg Buying traffic is not as expensive as you would expect. Compared to the early days of Internet marketing, the rates have gone down considerably to very competitive levels due to an influx of paid traffic programs these days. Now, you can buy as much as 5,000 visitors for less than the price of a spaghetti dinner for two. How cool is that?
iii.) Low quality traffic is better than no traffic at all Let's face it: you are NOT going to get quality traffic through paid traffic programs. But some of these programs actually took the pain to bring you the most appropriate kind of traffic, meaning the kind of traffic that is most likely to be interested in what your site has to offer. This is still very low quality traffic. But at the end of the day, it is still better than nothing at all.
Disadvantages of buying traffic
i.) No guarantee of targeted traffic As pointed out earlier, there is very little chance of you getting high quality traffic, let alone targeted ones. The traffic that you buy will come from all over the place, so there is no guarantee that they will come from the same market that you are targeting. Of course, you can play the numbers game, but still the chances of you receiving targeted traffic are almost next to nothing.
ii.) Beware of scams Scams are very common when it comes to traffic programs. A number of such traffic programs are using some dubious methods to generate the kind of traffic that you have paid for. Some of them are even more ruthless, making use of unethical methods to create an illusion that you have been getting a lot of hits, when in fact all these hits come from just a small group of users.
iii.) Inconsistent flow of traffic The flow of traffic that you are buying is very inconsistent. One day you will have an avalanche of visitors flocking to your site; the next day, you get no hits. It is frustrating to say the least, but this is just the way things go with paid traffic programs.
So is there anything that you can get out of the traffic that you buy?
Well, the answer is actually yes, but then again, don't expect miracles. Let us look at it this way: you will never hit the big time by just buying traffic. Because if the paid traffic is really that profitable, then why would people still want to sell them to you? Please understand that in the context of Internet marketing, nothing comes easy. Because when something is easy to get, it usually means that the quality will be compromised.
However, if you must buy traffic, then my advice to you is to treat your paid traffic as a lead generation campaign. Remember, a large chunk of traffic will be thrown in your direction, so try to make the best of the situation, and get these visitors to sign up for your mailing list so that you can follow-up on them if you have any future products to release for your next Internet marketing campaign.
