What is the First Thing I Should Do When Trying to Get Into Internet Marketing?

I think the first thing you have to do is realize that the "marketing" part of Internet Marketing is "Selling"! Now some people in the IM world will tell you, on a sales page no less, that "No Selling is Required". Well, I've been a successful salesman for 35 years. I'm a pro. I hang with pros. We know what we're doing. We talk the talk and we walk the walk.

And we all know the same things. The world of Belly to Belly Selling. In the Trenches. Sofa sales. TV sales. Insurance sales. Car sales. Houses even. We all use the same techniques. At one time I wrote a book on selling and went around training salespeople. Did you know that a salesperson that has been recently "freshened" in sale techniques always does better immediately? And usually, the salesperson will not slide all the way back to where he was before. Training improves you.

So you know what I think of sales training. It makes salespeople better! Don't doubt my sincerity when I say that training will make YOU better. Remember, Internet Marketing is Direct Marketing which is Sales! Training in any one of these makes you better in all of them. So, embrace learning, that's my top advice for newcomers to IM. Literally, go to school!

Note: If you decided to go into Law and become an attorney, you would expect to go to school and learn how, wouldn't you? One of the things that really makes me mad is the proliferation of "gurus" that tell you no knowledge is necessary, all you have to do is follow their plan! It's just bull. It's designed to separate people from their hard-earned cash.

This is online school, so you don't have to go to class or go to gym. But you better have your learning cap on. And don't take it off. The guys who are doing the very best in this business are very smart and up on the latest stuff and YOU'RE NOT! So if you are the type that likes learning, and you are the type that likes working, you are QUALIFIED! To learn that is, then work. Where you gonna learn? Who you gonna listen to? I recommend listening to me!

In my opinion, it all gets back to learning the skills necessary to make money online. You go get those skills in a setting where your lack of experience won't cost you an arm and a leg while you are doing something about that very lack of experience! Go to school ! Read a couple of books. Give yourself time. Implementation of those skills, later on, will make you money online because you'll know what you are doing.

I repeat... Go to school ! Read a couple of books. Give yourself time. You absolutely cannot lose on this tip and, of course, it is completely Guaranteed. Do this one thing, THEN do the other!

Now then, once you have that feather in your cap, we are going to start examining implementation. Yep! Gettin' it done. Doing things! You want to make money, don't you?That's where it starts to get exciting. But we're not going to get out of control, are we? I'm not, and I advise you not too, either.

I want you to realize that Internet Marketing is a vast arena in which you can do one small thing and make good money. You still have to be aware of the fundamentals of the whole thing to do the small thing. Then you have to get a working understanding of keywords and how they represent a market segment. You can learn this easily at a school I will recommend, just see my "about the author" section.

Go confidently and learn. Enjoy the experience. You'll be learning insider information that most info programs leave out and that's just the beginning!
