Use Tips About Internet Explorer Favorites

You may have several sites that favor best. Every time when you revisit these sites again, you will have to type the site URL one character by one character. Or just you come across a useful website that you want to browse it again next time, but the site URL is too long and complicated to remember. If there is a shortcut that could simplify the procedures and make you easily access them, which would be a good idea. Yes, it is Favorites (Bookmarks). As you know, most of the browsers today include bookmark managers and are capable of backing up and restoring your bookmarks and/or favorites. Below is a simple description of how to create, use, delete, backup and restore your Internet bookmarks or favorites.

How to Create Favorites in Internet Explorer:

  • 1. Open up the sites that you want to save for further reference.
  • 2. Click the Favorites and "Add to Favorites..."
  • 3. Select the folder wish to add and click OK.

Note: It is better to organize your Internet Explorer Favorites when you add them by collecting them in folders, otherwise they will be in a mess.

How to Use Your Internet Explorer Favorites:

  • 1. Open up an Internet Explorer page.
  • 2. Click the Favorite wish to visit and that is finished.

 

How to Delete Your Internet Explorer Favorites:

  • 1. Click Favorites, and "Organize Favorites".
  • 2. Select the Favorite wish to delete, and click the Delete button.
  • 3. Click Yes.

How to Backup Your Internet Explorer Favorites:

 

Note: By default, Microsoft Internet Explorer will save your bookmarks as bookmark.htm.

  1. Open up an Internet Explorer page, click the File menu and "Import and Export...".
  2. Within the Import and Export window click Next.
  3. Click "Export Favorites" and click Next.
  4. Select the folder wish to backup; if you wish to backup all favorites, leave the Favorites folder highlighted and click Next.
  5. Select the destination you wish to save the favorites and click Next.
  6. Click Finish.

How to Restore Internet Explorer from an Internet Explorer Backup:

  1. Within Internet Explorer, click the File menu and "Import and Export...".
  2. Within the Import and Export window click Next.
  3. Click "Import Favorites" and click Next.
  4. Select the location that contains your favorites and click Next.
  5. Select where you wish to save your favorites and click Next.
  6. Click Finish.
