Just like many other computer owners, you might have already encountered several problems with your PC. Error messages are quite common especially those with internet connection. By simply surfing the internet, your computer is already prone to different kinds of viruses. What causes unknown error messages on your PC?
Error message #401 or 403 appears on the computer screen. This is often caused by accessing a certain webpage that is not authorized by the host. You can always try to access the page again but if the message continues to appear, its time to stop accessing it. The error is also called 'connection refused by host'.
Error # 404 is also called 'file contains no data'. If this error message appears on the screen, it means that the page you're trying to access doesn't exist. Don't panic because it will do no harm to your computer. Just like error 401 or 403, you can type the address again but if the error appears repeatedly, then the page doesn't really exist.
Error message #400 is caused by entering a wrong address or by entering an address that doesn't exist. It also means 'unable to locate server' and 'failed DNS lookup'.
If you see error message #503, this means that the ISP or web server is down. If the message continues to appear, you need to check the connection, router, and modem. If all these equipments are functioning properly, the service provider has a problem. After a few minutes, try the internet once more. If the error message appears, you need to contact the ISP.
If a website is removed, busy, or down, an error message which says - 'host unknown' or 'host unavailable' will often appear. Just follow the steps mentioned earlier and you will be able to solve the problem.
Suppose you get an error message which says - 'bad file request', you should consider sending a message to the website's webmaster. The message is caused by the improper site function.
These are the common error messages. To some knowledgeable computer users, these messages are natural because they are already used to getting such messages. However some computer users are not aware of these error messages and so they regard them as unknown error messages. By simply reading and understanding what caused these error messages, you will know what to do.
Computer owners should understand what the error messages mean so that they will not freak out once the message appears. Now that you know the causes, you will know what to do. There are still other error messages that can appear on the computer screen. But by thorough research, you can determine the causes of such messages.
