DETERMINED to improve healthcare delivery system to its people, Jigawa state government has concluded arrangements to purchase hospital and medical equipment worth about N2 billion for allocating to Danmasara Specialist Hospital, Dutse.
Making this disclosure when he paid an unscheduled visit to the hospital under going general renovation, Governor Sule Lamido expressed happiness with the quality of job, saying that the hospital, would be transformed to a befitting edifice worthy of note.
He said some of the equipment to be purchased would include surgery, x-ray and ultra-sound machines, beds and beddings, computers, medicaments and large quantity of drugs as well as injections with their accessories among other things.
He said the wall fencing, extension of wards and other structures like air-conditioners, furniture and all office equipment have been installed, pointing out that when completed, the hospital will be the best in the country.
He added that qualified doctors, nurses, pharmacists and other related para-health workers will be posted to the hospital, adding that other general hospitals, comprehensive health centres among others will also be given a facelift.
