Finding the best NYC Courier Company

There is enormous variety in the provision of courier and messenger services in New York and the Tri-State area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

Courier and messenger companies range from multi-billion dollar international corporations to ‘one-man-band’ freight agents and anything in between.

For someone who isn’t in the industry choosing the best courier or messenger to fit their needs can sometimes be difficult and bewildering, especially if you just want to send small parcels now and then.

It’s very easy for an individual or a company to approach the biggest brand and the chances are that they will offer a good service but you will need to pay for what you get.  Sometimes, the smaller, ‘friendly’ NYC courier companies offer a very good, customer focussed service and many customers end up staying with them for years on end.

So what makes an NYC Courier company the ‘best’?

Simply put the following items are a must-have for any courier company.

  • A good, professional company image.  The messengers are representing you at the end of the day, and would you turn up to a client wearing ripped jeans and a t-shirt?
  • The ability to keep their delivery promises.  Can they cope with the demands of your order?
  • Efficiency.  From start to finish the messenger should be efficient in the way that they handle your order.
  • A range of services to meet your needs.  Different courier companies may offer different solutions for delivery.  Some may offer same day, next day, overnight, 1 hour or even international options.  Make sure that the courier you are using can deliver your consignment within the time constraints you set.
  • Technology.  Does the courier company have technology that allows you to book online and track your parcel throughout the life of the delivery?
  • Speed and Care.  Can they deliver your parcel on time and in the condition that it left your home or offices?

It may seem like a lot to take in, but a good way to find out if a NYC courier company really IS the best is to talk to their existing customers.  The opinions of independent, third party’s really do go along way when it comes to finding the best NYC Courier company.
