The thing is, there is a lot of hard work in just learning how to make money on the Internet. It's not just as simple as pulling together an e-book, throwing up a website and linking it to PayPal anymore. If it was, everyone would be doing it.
The first thing you need to learn is to how to make a product that people want and need. Not just a product, but several. No one can get rich off of marketing a single product, no matter how good it is.
After that, you need to know how to optimize your website for the search engines. There are two different kinds of search engine optimization, or SEO. There is on-site SEO and off-site SEO.
On-site SEO is what you do to your web page itself to make it both appealing to visitors and to rank well on the search engines. Often, these two go hand in hand. The ultimate goal is to make the site easy to navigate.
Off-site SEO is what you do to get other web pages to promote your web page. This can be alternately done by asking other web masters to place a link to your page on theirs. Most web masters are reluctant to do this, so you often have to take matters in your own hands.
Enter Web 2.0. Web 2.0 is a group of web properties where people get user accounts and can put links back to their web page. If handled correctly, Web 2.0 is a powerful tool to boost your search engine rankings.
These are just a few of the things you need to know for making money on the Internet.
