If you are one of the many mother's trying to balance your family and your career here are 5 tips that may help you.
It is important to go out to dinner or order in takeout at least once a week. It is also important to take a break from cooking dinner at least once a week to reduce stress. Another suggestion is to make dinners that you can freeze such as casseroles or breaded chicken cutlets. This can make cooking during the week a lot easier.
Set up a schedule for your children to help you out with chores during the week. For example on Monday nights your son can help you clear the kitchen table and your daughter can help you by feeding the cat. Giving simple chores to your children can help teach them responsibility while helping you out with simple tasks at the same time.
Give yourself credit and understand that not everything will run smoothly. It is important to realize that while working a full time job and raising your family to expect that not everything will be perfect. It’s okay to let the bed go unmade once or for your children’s stuffed animals to be all over the living room floor.
Take at least ten minutes to yourself during the week. Whether it is a relaxing bubble bath or reading a magazine, it is important to take some much need "me" time too.
Spend time with your children. As a working mom you may find yourself checking your computer for emails or constantly carrying your cell phone by your side but it is important to always put your kids first when you are with them. Play with your kids as much as you can when you are home.
