Children’s Birthday Parties

Children love a party that includes their favorite character or hero. Most will choose a popular television, or movie character. These decorations and party supplies are usually easy to acquire, as the media is very happy to promote their goods.

If you want to be a little more imaginative with your party, here are some suggestions:

> Base your child’s party on a favorite book. There are many children’s books that are adventurous and fun. The children could dress up as characters in the book. You can decorate your home with a scene from the story. Children have great imaginations, so ask your birthday child for ideas to make this party great.

> Basing a party on a board game can be interesting and different. Candy Land, Clue, and Jumanji would make fun party themes. Plan and be creative.

> Your future scientist will enjoy a party full of experiments. The best part of a science class is always the cool experiments. Create your own ‘Mad’ science lab and go crazy with some safe experiments.

> Is your favorite little mystery solver having a birthday? Create a mystery party and solve clues. Your guests may need magnifying glasses to help solve the clues of a Sherlock Holmes party! They will need a treasure map to solve the mysterious clues that a pirate left behind for a Treasure Hunt party.

> A Play Dough and Craft Party can get messy, so you have to be prepared. Cheap shower curtains, plastic tablecloths or plastic tarps are great to help cover the floor, if necessary. Make up games with the play dough: Who can make the longest snake, or the best dinosaur? Cookie cutters and plastic knives are fun tools to use on your play dough designs. Simple crafts are fun to make and give your guests something to take home with them.

Fun and unique parties take planning and creativity. However, they are well worth your effort. Give your Birthday Star a party that he and his friends will remember for a long time!
