Colic Babies - What You Can Do Fast to Stop Baby Colic Crying

As parents, we are all familiar with hearing our baby's cry. But parents of colic babies get to hear their baby cry a lot. It's downright frustrating to have a happy, healthy baby that cries all the time. If you need some help fast to stop your baby's crying, here are some techniques you can use right away to soothe your baby.

White Noise MP3 Download
Experts, like Dr. Harvey Karp, author of The Happiest Baby on the Block, agree that playing white noise can be very beneficial to soothing a baby's incessant crying. If you're baby is suffering from colic, playing a sound recording of a vacuum cleaner, or a hair dryer reminds your baby of the sound she heard while in the womb. Because the time spent in the womb was a content and happy place for your baby, she will usually instantly quiet down upon hearing the white noise.

You can readily find a white noise mp3 available for download on the internet. Many are free to try. If you are unable to download a white noise mp3 right now, you can try some tests first on household appliances to see if they work to calm down your colicky baby. For instance, some of the appliances below are known to work wonders.

* Dishwasher
* Washing Machine
* Fan
* Static on the Radio
* Vacuum Cleaner
* or Hair Dryer

If any of these work, don't keep running the appliance every time your baby cries! You'll wear out your appliance. Plus, you want to be able to control how loud, and how long the baby listens to the noise. The wiser solution is to either find yourself a white noise cd with the preferred sound, or find a white noise mp3 to download.

Get Moving
Colic babies seem to enjoy the feeling of being on the move. While they were in the womb, their mother was in motion much of the day. The jostling they felt was a comfort to them. Why do you think babies love rocking and swinging so much?

For a baby with colic, this is especially true. To ease the crying fast, you need to do your best to recreate the conditions your baby felt while in the womb. So, try to get them moving. Great ways to do this are listed below.

* put them in a baby swing
* wear them in a baby sling or carrier
* take them for a ride in a stroller
* take them for a ride in a car

The Burrito Wrap
Have you ever noticed in the hospital, your baby is brought to you wrapped up like a burrito? This is called swaddling. And colic babies love to be swaddled.

The confined, tight feeling, again, reminds baby of how she felt while in the womb. Are you beginning to see a pattern here? The more we remind baby of how they felt when they were in the womb, they calmer they become.

You can easily learn the burrito wrap (swaddling technique) so you can incorporate it into your everyday routine.

Gripe Water
Sometimes, colic babies cry because they are gassy. Gripe water is a holistic formula for baby gas. It has been around for over a century and a trusted colic remedy around the world.

Popular brands, such as Colic Calm, contain the types of herbs and extracts that people have been using since ancient times to ease pain associated with digestive discomforts. Usually, gripe water ingredients include well-known gas-busters such as, peppermint, fennel and ginger (to name a few). To find out more about gripe water, simply do a gripe water review search to find the best brand.
