You are having a hard time with your toddler, he won't listen to you, and he creates a fuss when his little friends come over to play and is unwilling to share with them. What on Earth are you to do? Well it looks like you need to discipline your child with methods that really work.
Here are some of them:
Avoid yelling and screaming, stay relaxed and talk in a calm manner explain to your toddler in a language that he can understand it is the misbehavior that you are not happy with but you will always love him.
Try not to say "no" too often, it should be used sparingly such as when there is imminent danger or something is completely inflexible. Instead of saying no try and get your child's attention onto something positive. For example if its' your child's bedtime and he say "I don't want to go to bed yet, can I stay up a bit longer" you could say something like "I know you'd like to stay up a bit longer, but it's story time and we've got to find out what happens to Goldilocks when the 3 bears come home".
Give rewards and praise for good behavior but you shouldn't continuously praise your child for routine activities, if he gets praise for very simple acts then why should he strive for something better.
You must not confuse bribes with rewards. A reward is received after doing something good, and a bribe is given beforehand to try and get good behavior; not a good idea.
Finally don't forget children learn by watching adults, especially their parents so try and be a good role model. If your child sees you putting your things away where they belong, it's very likely your child will learn to do the same with his toys. Of course your child may need a little encouragement from time to time.
I know it's not easy being a parent these days, but children need to know the rules and it's your responsibility to teach them so you need to know how to discipline your child. You don't need your toddler driving you crazy; take the steps right now to find out how easy it can be to be a better parent, learn from an expert who will teach you.
