Is your child a nightmare improving relationships to make you all happier

Unless there are underlying problems that can affect a childs behaviour such as child abuse or bullying often a child needs direction, stability, stimulation, guidance, love and attention that seems to turn a naughty child into a good one.

As a parent putting correct parenting into a practise often doesnt come easy for some parents. where do you start ?, when do you start? when already at the age of 4 a child is running the roost at home.

we help one mum learn how to put skills into practise to show her child who is the parent around the house child ? or mum?

1." she wont do as she is told help"by mum.

Answer if you let a child get a way with anything you are not setting groundrules. There is no consequence for her actions and so this is why she wont do as she is told. As a family a single parent or mum and dad you both need to set goals in mind and stick to it .if you were offered 5lb bag of sweets would you eat them all NO why  because you would be sick and wouldnt feel very good.

A child doesnt understand this they would see them and want them all so you have to explain why certain things cannot be done. The same goes for hitting other children or kicking at a door as a parent you know things already, a child doesnt so bear this in mind when you are about to scream at a child to behave. explain things calmly and stick to your guns ie no means no matter how much they ask you over and over agin , kick and tantrum on the floor just to get what they want.

2."What can i do Im at my witts end I give to her everytime just to get some peace?." by mum.

Answer children crave affection and attention in some way or other to get you to respond. Even if they got a smack from you it got an end result its better concentare on good things you and your child can do together than you both screaming at each other and hating each other even at such an early age as just 4 years old.praising a picture they have coloured for you putting a crisp packet in the bin and giving a cuddle can form such good relationships. In small steps like this it enphasisi possitive behaviour and if you ignored the bad except in extreme cases a child learns ummm this is good i get a good responce from mummy if im good I like this much better.

3. "I want to enjoy my child not shout at her all the time what can I do?" by mum.

Answer Do activities together that help to build a relationship between you both, swimming at fun pool sessions at your local swimming baths, as your child jumps in she learns to need you, to feel safe and secure to cling to you and by having fun you are both much happier than being a logger heads with each other.Read stories to her paint a picture together these are the kind of activities that you can both take part in.If you are busy make sure you spend at least 1 hr quality time a day doing games and helping each other out ie set the table put in the washing with mummy pass me a peg and so on.by working together youer child is having quality time with you than just going straight to bed with no play time or special time close to you. It will help build a strong friendship between you both and the "naughtyness" will start to dissapear slowly.

(Foot note) it speaks volumes when you can actually hear a mother screaming at her child. After taking on board what we said she now takes her child to the park, swimming and the screaming has stopped by both parties in only 2 weeks what an improvement a happier child and a less stressed mother.keep up the good work mummy you are doing very well.
