Living Cheaper - Garden

Grass clippings can be spread on the lawn over the top of newspaper layers. Sticks from pruning will help to stop it blowing away.

Many beautiful plants are drought hardy, so need less watering. Buying native plants will usually save in the watering department, but some of these do need to be watered regularly until they are established, so be sure to read the label. Many other plants such as camellias guzzle water if its available but flower quite readily when water is restricted. They may not grow as fast, that's all.
