Social Security Death Records have the following data of a deceased person
- First name
- Last name
- Date of Birth
- Date of Death
- State of Residence
- Where the last SSB was sent
- Where the SSN was issued
- Last known address

Here’s a search tip. When you are searching for a person using the SSDI, you shouldn’t include the middle initial. The middle names are not indexed. Just use the first name and the last name of the person that you are looking for. You should also not the periods that are covered by the records that you have. Sometimes the earlier years cannot be unearthed because the SSA only used computer technology to store documents that were dated in the early 1960s so anything earlier than that will be really hard to find.

However there are birth dates that go far back as the 1850s that surprisingly still have records. These are documents that were archived and uploaded online, thus they were recorded.

Finally, when you are searching for females, use their maiden names. This distinguishes them from the others in the index database.
