The health of your pet’s coat of fur speaks tremendously about the health condition of your pet. With adequate love, wholesome natural diet and quality time spent with your pet will ensure they shine vibrantly for you. People are bound to envy your pet’s gorgeous coat and most importantly, optimum health and vitality as well.
Here’s some basics to take note to guarantee that luxiourious coat of fur an envy to many pet owners around. For this to work, ensure your pet gets proper quality nutrition daily, love and care as well.
Groom Regularly
Groom them regularly (daily preferred even for short hair coat), this also control shedding. Talk to your local pet shop to ask for recommendation for your dog’s coat type to avoid buying the wrong comb for your dog. Ensure that the brush or comb is quality brush or comb so as not to cause discomfort to your dog. Rounded tip bristle is best as it does not hurt the dog’s skin and make combing a more pleasant experience. One example of quality brushes and grooming needs can be found with Chris Christensen system.
Things to note when grooming your furry friend:
• Brush or comb in the direction of the hair growth.
• Place a non slip matt if your floor is too smooth.
• Talk to your dog and calm him during the session if he fidgets.
Supplementation
Supplement your dog with omega oil to get that shinny gorgeous looking coat of fur. You may use Salmon oil or organic flaxseed oil if their coat appears dry, brittle or have dander problems. These supplements can be easily purchased at your local pet shop or pharmacy. I personally prefer human grade supplements for my dogs and we just need to ensure the dosage is checked and administered correctly according to our pet’s weight.
Things to note when purchasing flaxseed oil:
• Check expiry date, oil left on the shelve for too long can turn rancid especially if the bottles are exposed to light source
• Purchase brands that have dark bottles where light source cannot damage the oil quality.
• Check to ensure that administration of oil is also convenient. I personally prefer the squeezable bottles so there is no mess and no excess leakage problems.
• Purchase organic range flaxseed oil. It costs a little more but it is well worth it!
