Buying and Selling Pets Online

Certainly when it comes to buying pets online there are certain things that you can do which will ensure that the animal is fit and healthy. In this article we offer some tips that could prove extremely useful when buying & selling pets online.

So what should you do when you are thinking of buying a new pet online?  Below we offer some tips that may prove very useful.

Tip 1 – When it comes to buying a pet online you should question everything that has been written with regards to the animal you are considering.  Although you may feel that this being a little extreme it will help to ensure that you don’t end up losing out because you have been scammed by someone.  If you find that the seller is unwilling to offer answers to the questions you are raising or make claims that seem too good to be true then you should take your business elsewhere.

Tip 2 – Before you even think about handing over any money then make sure that you get everything put down in writing.  You can either ask them to provide a handwritten note which they can fax or email.  But whatever method you use this will provide you with an avenue to contact the seller again should any problems arise.

Tip 3 – As with buying anything online you need to know exactly what costs are going to be involved.  Along with the cost of the animal, you need to factor in the cost of transportation.  So ask how much they charge for the container, also any additional fees they charge if you need them to keep the pet for you for an extra few days until you can collect it. This way you won’t then be hit with any extra fees that could result in you having to spend far more than you hoped for.

Above we have looked at some of the things to take into consideration when buying pets online.  Now what should you do when it comes to selling pets online?  Below we offer some tips that you may find helpful.

Tip 1 – When advertising a pet for sale, make sure that you include as many pictures as possible within the advert.  This is a sure way of getting a potential buyer to fall in love with the animal.  Also these pictures can help a buyer to quickly determine whether the animal you have for sale is what they really want.

Tip 2 – It is vital that within the description part of your advert you include as much information as you can about the pet as possible.  Don’t just tell them what breed the animal is and whether it’s male or female but also provide some information regarding their parents. Also don’t forget to mention what sort of temperament your pet has.  Of course another thing you must include within the description is the animal’s age and what medical treatment it has undergone and if it has had all the necessary inoculations that it needs.

Tip 3 – It is important that you try to keep your emotions out of any potential deals.  Yes you should be screening those who are considering purchasing your pet, however don’t expect to find the perfect one.  What you should be looking for a new person to own your pet that will provide it with a good home and will care for it in the same way that you have.  If you are at all concerned ask for some more personal information including whether they have owned the pet you have previously.

Finally when it comes to buying & selling pets online you need to choose the best place to advertise them.  There are now several websites that are specifically dedicated to help people buy and sell pets.  In some cases these sites are dedicated to certain pets.  Therefore the chances of you finding someone who knows about the pet you have and how to care for it is greatly increased.   However, these sites that offer pets for sale are just as useful for those looking to buy one.  With these types of sites you have more chance of finding a reputable seller rather than someone who is trying to take you for what they can.
