When author Rich Livitski isn't trying to save a buck on his own dogs supplies, he's busy working on his puppy names website, where dog names can be found in all shapes and sizes.
Are you interested in saving money on dog supplies? Who isn't with today's economy!
Whether you just acquired the cutest little pup, or already own a mature dog, the bottom line here is that your dog will need supplies. Have you ever wondered though whether you're getting the best price on what your dog needs? Or have maybe wondered if you couldn't have saved more money somehow?
Sure, one could assume that that the local pet superstore has the best prices on your dogs favorite food…but do you know that for a fact? You'd be amazed just how much prices can vary from store to store, and of course, who has the time to run about doing comparison shopping? I know I sure don't.
So here are some quick tips on where and how to find cheap dog supplies. Ready? Grrrreat!
Save By Using Coupons:
There are many websites out there that specialize in coupons of all sorts. These sites are a sort of clearing house that collects not only coupons offered from various pet websites, but also alerts the visitor to great sales that might be offered. One of my favorite coupon sites is Coupon Cabin, (www.couponcabin.com) once your there, type into the search bar the term "Pet Supplies" and your off to the races! The great thing too about these types of sites is they also offer money saving coupons for groceries and retail goods, so your dog won't be the only one who benefits!
Some Other Great Coupon Sites…
Coupon Craze (www.couponcraze.com)
Deal Catcher (www.dealcatcher.com)
Coupon Surfer (www.couponsurfer.com)
Save By Comparison Shopping:
One of the best sites I know of to do so for cheap dog supplies, or for any type of pet supply or even personal products, is Shopping.com (www.shopping.com) Once there you'll see a search box that asks…What are you shopping for? Simply type in dog beds, dog crates, or whatever your fancy and you'll be given a great selection to choose from with the comparison prices from different companies.
What if you already own a large dog, and it eats more than your kids do…simply type in the name of your dogs favorite brand of food, and you'll be surprised how much you might save.
Be mindful of one thing though…whether tax and shipping costs are included in the lowest price you find. Many companies today will offer free shipping on orders over a certain dollar amount, so not only will you save by buying in larger quantity, but you'll also save a trip to the store. Also, should you buy from an out of state store, you can save an additional 5-10% on state sales tax!
Some Other Great Comparison Shopping Sites…
Shopzilla (www.shopzilla.com)
Bizrate (www.bizrate.com)
Yahoo! Shopping (www.shopping.yahoo.com)
Saving Money Through E-bay Auctions:
Everyone's heard of E-bay, but how many dog owners have considered this site as a place to get great deals on their dogs necessities? Participating in an auction is free, easy, and a whole lot of fun. Win one, and you can save a bundle.
You can visit E-bay directly and do a search for the auctions pertaining to what your looking for, or there are certain sites that make finding auctions for specific low cost dog supplies even easier.
With only a small amount of effort, and using any of the above recommendations, you can save money not only on things your dog needs, but also on your own groceries, clothing and just about any other thing imaginable.
