If you are a dog lover, you will certainly love puppies very much. Well, when a new dog owner first adopts a puppy, one of the biggest mistakes that he can possibly make is to think that bringing up a puppy is an easy task.
Well, certainly not. Regardless of the kind of dog you have, it is always a good idea to start training them as soon as possible. The most ideal case is to train the dogs when they are still young.
Here, we will briefly talk about dog leash training and how to get a dog to wear a leash. Well, before getting a dog to wear a leash, we first have to start small.
By starting small, it means getting the dog to wear a collar first. Ultimately, if a dog is not used to wearing a collar, it is probably not a good idea to get the dog to wear a leash yet.
Take note that when you first put on a collar on your puppy's neck, he is probably not going to be too happy about it. Most probably, he will just try whatever way he can in order to get rid of the collar.
As you are watching, you are probably tempted to remove the collar from the puppy. Well, even if it pains your heart, don't do that. Resist that temptation. The collar is not going to hurt your puppy in anyway.
Sooner or later, your puppy will start getting used to the collar and will not even notice it anymore or try to get rid of it.
Once your puppy gets used to wearing the collar, it is probably a good time to start introducing the leash. Here is one important point to take note. When your puppy is wearing a leash, you should supervise it closely. Never leave it alone. In case the leash got stuck to something, you are there to save your puppy.
