Common Dog Grooming Products
If you own a dog, then you certainly have heard about dog grooming products. These are things that can be very helpful to you in taking care of your dog. Keeping a dog in the house requires some efforts that you have to exert: from feeding the dog and taking care of his aesthetics.
Think of it this way. We spend a lot of money taking care of our vanity. For women, makeup kits are a must. For me, hair gel, perfume, and a comb would certainly be enough. We have the capability of improving our looks; however, dogs cannot do that. It is a fact too that they tend to get themselves real dirty at times, and it also happens that a dog owner's personality and attitude reflect on the way he takes care of his pets.
So, what can a dog owner use for his dog's grooming needs? Here are some of the most common dog grooming products that you can buy in the market:
Dog Shampoos
This is singularly the most important dog grooming product that you can find. With this, you can make sure that your dog has the best-looking coat in the world. These shampoos work just like the shampoos we are using for our hair; they have the nutrients that contribute to the shine and luster that we enjoy. The only difference would probably be in the range of fragrance that you can choose from for dog shampoos.
Dog shampoos also do more than just beautifying a dog's coat. They also kill off dog ticks and fleas so that they don't infest and feed on the nutrients in the dog's body.
Dog Clippers
For some dog breeds, the fur can be problematic. For toy dogs like shih tzu, poodles, and similar breeds, the fur can grow so long that they can make a dog look unorganized and cluttered. While this is fine for some people, some dog owners don't want that. So they trim the dog's hair.
Without the proper equipment, trimming a dog's hair can be difficult and very time-consuming. Fortunately, you can make use of dog clippers for that. Dog clippers make fur cutting a very convenient task, and they can save you a lot of time too. Scissors are only needed to make the final touches; the clippers take care of majority of the task.
Grooming Gloves
Sometimes hair could have been shed off by the dog's body but get stuck inside the thick coat. Loose hair can be a problem if they indeed get off the body of the dog as it moves around. The fur can cause problems for people with asthma if they are unintentionally inhaled. To avoid that, you'd need to remove those loose hairs by yourself.
Grooming gloves are made especially for that. As opposed to using brushes, grooming gloves allow you to thoroughly run your hands through the dog's fur and grab any loose hair that you can find. These gloves are also designed to make loose hair stick to it, so you can eliminate as much of these pieces of fur as possible.
