It is important to learn how to properly Feed Dairy Cows so that they can produce the best milk. Dairy Cow Farms are scattered all across the United States and an important staple in the agriculture industry.
There are several various types of farms. One of the more ordinary are dairy cow farms. These raise cows especially for the design of gathering milk from them and then selling the milk. In order for the cows to develop the proper measure of milk to sell, the farmer must make sure that they are eating the proper foods.
Essentially all cows eat the same kinds of foods and are on the same feeding schedule. The only time the schedule will change is when the season alters. Winter and summer feedings are rather distinct from each other.
Winter Feeding
Give the cows hay or some other type of roughage when you do not have any pasture. Feed them a grain mix or cubes that contains 15% more protein during the harsher winter months. You must keep them well hydrated the whole time. Keep them close to a pond or watering bank. When these are frozen utilize a special tool to break the ice.
Summer Feeding
If you are able to, provide every cow with an acre of pasture. When spring comes be careful and look out for loose stools. When grass grows early the cow mostly receives water but none of the vitamins or minerals. Feed them a grain or mineral mix to offer them the protein and vitamins they require to remain healthy.
With these diet plans and the right food your diary cow may be better and have a greater chance of producing more milk. It will also have a simpler time at devloping a healthy calf to produce.
