How To Control Inappropriate Urination In Dogs

Unwanted urination can be a headache for any pet owner. While there can be many reasons for deterioration of pet health that leads to inappropriate urination and even defecation in a few cases, it’s not easy to answer pet health questions such as, “why does my pooch pee anywhere and at anytime?”; “what can I do about it?”, etc. Worst of all, you may panic and become irritable when your house trained pet urinates at the most inappropriate times!

This pet health issue is a very common condition that many pet owners experience and can be treated with proper diagnosis. Before you try to address this pet health problem, it’s important for you to understand the basis of this pet health problem. Asking your dog’s vet pet health questions can also help to find out more about inappropriate or unwanted urination. While there can be more than 20 odd medical reasons for your beloved furry friend to lose control over his bladder, you must identity the root cause of the condition in order for it to be properly treated.

The best and most accepted way to detect the reason for such a condition requires careful elimination of any obvious medical reasons right at the start. Some of these medical reasons that can affect pet health include bladder infections that lead to unwanted urination, lack of bladder control due to excitement (more common in puppies than mature dogs), submissive urination among many others.

Let’s take a look at some of the most common pet health reasons that force your pooch to lose control of his bladder and urinate at the most inappropriate times. While unwanted urination is highly common with puppies, you’ll find that this condition corrects itself as the puppies grow older and mature with age. Though puppies unknowingly urinate when they experience something exciting, reprimanding them for doing this can only lead to more confusion and further soiling. It’s advisable not to get angry with your canine friend for excitement urination because this could lead to more pet health problems where he may develop a habit to urinate unexpectedly due to submissiveness rather than because he is excited. This may lead to another pet health problem that you’ll have to address!

The best way to cure excitement urination is by preventing your dog from getting over excited by exposing him to those specific situations that excite him easily until they have no effect on his anymore. The other pet health problem of submissive urination is a common problem with dogs that feel insecure and those who have experienced severe abuse.

One way to cure inappropriate peeing in dogs is to ignore this habit and simply work to develop a more loving and caring relationship with your pet and help him build his self-confidence. If you have any pet health questions, you must ask your dog’s vet for answers to better understand this issue.
