Preventic Tick Collar

This question is about the Preventic Tick Collar. I have had a horrible time with ticks this spring. I put the Preventic tick collar on my dogs last Wed. It seems to be helping. I did find a totally engorged tick crawling on the wall today. My question is: Can I use the tick collar with a topical tick medicine such as K9 Advantix? I have been told I can.
