When it comes to keeping salt water fish, it is not an easy task. There is much to know about salt water fish guides, the first thing which you need to know if the types of fish which you can keep in your aquarium. There are dozens and dozens of species which can survive in a saltwater aquarium, but each species is a varying degree in care and some fish are easier to look after than others and has a better chance of surviving. If you are a beginner salt water fish enthusiast, then you should never over crowd your first tank, remember the fewer fish you have in your tank, the more chance of success you will have. A beginner should start their saltwater aquarium with damsels and clownfish. These are the easiest species of saltwater fish to begin with and if you keep a pair of clownfish and some damsels in you tank, then you are well on your way to learning the ropes.
When you have had a little bit of experience and you think that you have mastered the basics of keeping salt water fish, then you can move up a notch to the next level, these species of fish are considered average to take care of and they include; gobies, blennies, hawk fish, tangs, crabs, shrimps and live rock which has been taken from a reef system. Only add more species to your tank when you are sure you are ready and that you are able to take care of the fish in your tank, remember the more species you have, the more care they will need.
Once you have become used to looking after your salt water fish, then you might want to test yourself a little bit with some of the more difficult species to look after. These include angelfish, lion fish, wrasses, triggerfish, clams, Moorish, starfish, soft corals and much more.
