Fresh water aquarium is easy to maintain, as it can be kept clean with ease. It is difficult to keep salt water clean but as discussed earlier many varieties of fishes can be kept in marine water. The cost involved in having fresh water aquarium is much less when compared with salt-water aquarium. Fresh water fishes are less expensive than the ocean water fishes. But the ocean water aquarium will look wonderful as it can house different varieties of fish. You can even keep few water animals that are not fish in marine water aquarium. You can make the aquarium look like a mini ocean, which is certainly not possible in plain water aquarium.
There is no doubt that the work and the expenditure is more in maintaining salt-water aquarium. You may also need to spend more time in maintaining it. But, just consider the advantages listed below. You can create your own world in your home. The kids will just love it. You can also teach the children about the sea animals. The kids will have first hand information of the animals that are not commonly seen.
You must prepare a list of fishes and sea animals you want to have in salt water aquarium. You must know, whether all those fishes are available nearby. If not, you should know where they are available; otherwise all the money and time spend on salt water aquarium will go waste, which is undesirable.
