Before you get your first cat there are going to be a number of things you will need on hand so we'll call this list the PET SUPPLY list. Food, bowls (at least 3 of them), a litter box and of course cat litter, some toys, a crate or pet carrier maybe even a Scratching Post. They are just some of the items you will need to fulfill part of your list. It might seem a lot but from some of the items mentioned in that list will only or should only be a one of purchase, so it really isn't all that bad.
The supply and demand to fill your pet supply list is plentiful as far as retailers go, and the stock they hold just for such a list can generally be filled at one location. Nowadays you can even buy what you need on the Internet so that might be worth a look as you can search around for the best bargains, favoring low cost to low quality and all from the comforts of your favorite computer chair. Above I mentioned 3 food bowls...why? Well the first is for the food, the second for water and the third would be for 'dry' food as a supplement for your cat to go to as, and when it pleases. If you have different color of altogether different bowls for the food and water, then try and stick to using the same bowls as cats tend to hold their noses up to change and could initially walk away. But with patience and perseverance on your part any change would eventually have to be accepted by the cat as their memory span is not as great as ours.
The cost of your initial outlay for your pet supply list can be as expensive as you want it or as cheap as you want it which is why it is best to have an idea of your spending limit to provide the needs of this new member of the family. Remember the cat will be with you for at least 10 years or more. The brief list compiled above is just that, a brief list, but your pet supply needs are what you feel you should provide to make the cat or kitten comfortable when it first arrives in its new home.
As mentioned before, to fulfill your pet supply list, the numbers of Retailers of pets' stuff are increasing in leaps and bounds and it will pay you to 'shop' around. You should be able to find a 'One-stop-shop' online that will cater to all your needs. Always feel free to ask questions about any product you are unsure about. There will always be someone in the store, online, or at the end of a phone that should be able to guide you, but it is ultimately how you behave as a responsible cat owner that will allow you and your cat to have a fruitful and wonderful time together.

Using Cat Beds, and Water Fountains
By: caroline stevenson | 04/12/2009I am a certified hardcore cat owner. I have so many accesories for my half-breed Persian cat Crumpet around the house that it is probably the first thing guests notice when they enter the front door. (Oh! Cat Scratchers Versus Furniture
By: caroline stevenson | 04/12/2009I think the title will say it all. Which would you choose? A lot of people see their cats as absolute angels who let their kitties do anything they please in with the household furniture. I would step into their house and see peeled sofas, artistically separated drapes, pet signatures on authentic wooden stuff and the classic shredded curtains.
Cat Litter Trays - The Importance of Neatness With Your Pet Cat
By: caroline stevenson | 04/12/2009Well here is one endeavor I'm sure a lot of cat pet owners will be able to relate with me very well: cat litters. Boy am I glad that cats are among the neatest house pets one can have - I can only imagine having to shout at a pet pooch for the "mess" he made on the floor. Cats have a natural instinct to bury their feces in the sand or dirt while carefully not having their fur come in contact with it.
