I've been a dog owner for many years now, and the one problem I always found difficult to solve was how to stop my dog from barking. Many dogs will bark when they hear a knock at the door; others bark at strangers. My dogs used to bark when they were left alone at home on their own.
This used to not only frustrate me, but also my neighbours. I had to find a solution to calm the dogs, and to keep my sanity. Sure, I had been to dog obedience school, but the cost of the lessons quickly added up. I decided there had to be another way. I spent a long time looking on the internet for what other people had tried, and studying what did and didn't work for them.
You would have come across some of the following yourself:
Rewards
A common method for training a dog is the reward system. I was shown this at a dog obedience class some years ago, but I found it all a little too tedious.
Dog Spray
The dog spray was the second method I tried to keep my dog from barking. You won't be surprised to hear that spraying a dog in the face didn't seem to work. If anything, it seemed to aggravate the dog more.
Stop Barking Dog Collar
The third product I tried was the electric collar. You may already be familiar with how these work, but in all honesty, I didn't want to subject my dog to an electric shock every time it barked. The other downside of these is the cost and maintenance.
Sit, Stay Fetch
I resisted buying this manual for some time, but after reading some reasonable reviews and positive feedback, I decided to give it a go. This manual was the answer I had been searching for. To be honest, I could not believe this product worked. I learnt how to stop my dog from barking in no time. Success!
My research efforts had paid off. Finally I leave home without the fear that my dog would be barking the second I wasn't on my property. My neighbours are happy, and the sense of achievement I have gained is great. Best of all, I no longer need to worry about my dog misbehaving and barking when I'm not around!
Don't lose heart if the results aren't immediate, or if it doesn't appear to work for a little while. It takes a few days, but the results did come and they certainly are worth it when they do. I have passed these tips on to my friends and now all of our dogs (and owners) can happily socialize together.
If you've tried everything else (as I had), then I would suggest visiting the 'Sit, Stay, Fetch' website and download the product as I did. Save yourself the headache of a barking dog today.
