.Training is not effective for Barking Dogs - Barking for dogs is oral communication. There are underlying causes. Training helps the owners understand their dog better. Training alleviates the issue behind dog barking thus giving the neighbor his peace.

.Using shock collars is cruel as they cause huge electric shocks to my dog - I doubt anyone would be so inhumane that they let a device causing electric shock be used on his dogs. But the point is the so called shock collars do not exactly give them a shock which causes them pain or even discomfort. It probably just surprises them into paying attention.Studies have shown that these are far less than the jolt produced by cattle prod which is a used training equipment. These collar also come with sprays which startle the dog to stop barking. The results produced are also staggeringly effective.

.Excessive barking is due to bad breeding - I agree that breeding dogs exclusively for the purpose of making them watch dogs is done and that these dogs are meant to bark however excessive barking is a learned habit. Your dog is probably barking to convey something you probably do not understand.

.Barking Dogs do not Bite - It is a myth alright. Do not be misguided. Aggressiveness is a tendency which causes the dogs to bark and the same may aggravate them to bite too. Be careful especially around strange dogs.

.Only Barking dogs are good watch dogs - I agree watch dogs need to bark to alert us about intruders however it has been known that the ideal watchdog does not bark too loudly or insistently. In fact it does not have the aggressive qualities of biting or barking excessively at all.

.Strelize your dog to comepletely stop dog barking - Spaying and Neutering a dog only reduces the barking of a dog in heat. It does not remove the underlying cause of dog barking.

.Dogs bark because they long for the company of a dog - One of the causes of dog barking sure is Attention Seeking. However, not in all cases does another dog cure barking. In fact, if the cause of barking is any form of aggression, it can increase the barking and aggressive behavior further.
