Why Cats Need to Climb

Have you ever noticed the enjoyment a cat gets from climbing a tree?  You can see it in their movements, almost like luxuriating in the sensation of freedom and power it gives them.  They are able to watch the world around them while in the safety of the tree’s height.  This has been bred into cats from the very beginning.

Since the beginning of cat time, cats have found the need to climb to high places.  One of the main reasons was food for survival, stalking and patiently waiting for their prey.  Secondly, also for survival, was for escape from other animals who might attack them.  Then, there is the pure feeling of being above the rest of the world, which we know a cat feels.

A cat has an instinctual need to climb.  They need a place to escape other animals and humans in their environment, like your children or another pet who might think it’s fun to chase them.  A cat condo or cat tree is a necessity, not a luxury, in the mind of your cat.  It’s right up there with food, in importance to them.  It’s also a lot of fun to play, chase each other and use the tree’s scratching posts.

The cat condo  gives them a safe feeling and a place to feel secure enough to sleep.  Give your precious pet the safety & security they need.  In both cat condos and sisal scratching posts, we, at www.kittystoreonline.com  offer a wide variety of styles, sizes and colors at reasonable prices and free shipping on most of them.
