Dog urine stains and odors might not be as difficult to deal with as it would be with cats, but that does not mean it can't get out of hand. If you are not alert in catching the uninitiated area in time, your dog's urine can potentially pose a serious problem to your carpet or furniture. The reason for this potentially serious problem is due to the fact that dogs generally urinate in the same spot over and over again.
I think we can then all agree that the best way to remove the dog urine stains and odors from your carpet or furniture is by preventing the problem from happening in the first place. Luckily, this is easier to accomplish with dogs than it is with cats.
Before you can prevent anything, you must first find out why your dog is urinating on your carpets. Yes, there are many reasons for this.
So why does your dog mess your carpet?
Just like you, when they have to go, they have to go. Ok, not always. Many dogs urinate as a way of marking their territory. One way to deal with both of these situations is to house train your dog. If you don't show them where they are allowed and not allowed to do their business, they will often feel free to do it where they please. So, one of the first steps in saving your carpet is by finding a great book on house training dogs, then putting it into use.
Some dogs urinate out of anxiety or because they are simply afraid and nervous. Unfortunately, house training your loved one won't help you prevent this scenario. In this case, your dog needs help. You need to find out why it is having these anxiety attracts. Is it due to a physical, mental or emotional problem? The first step in solving this problem is by taking your dog to the vet. At that point, your vet will affectively advise you on how to deal with the situation.
Maybe your dog has some type of health problem. One such problem could be a urine infection. The list can go on. What ever the case may be, taking your dog to the vet is the best way to deal with it. Your vet will then subscribe the best medication for your dog's illness, which in turn makes your loved one healthy again, and saves your precious carpet.
By being observant to your dog's behavior, many potential little accidents can be prevented. Sometimes you can't be there to save your carpet. What ever the case may be, always understand one thing; your cute little loved one doesn't know better, so be easy on your furry friend.
