Do We Live for Joy, Glory & Peace?

The question seems & sounds absurd in the first go, but the question remains and stands mightier than the Lofty Himalayas. We live in a society and feel proud to be the most eligible living beings on this planet.
We have graduated to be called Social Engineers instead of the outdated Social Animal Tag. And this Engineering Degree is a reward for our precious learning years invested in EDUCATION.
Now, we begin our Walk of Life, at times matching to the beats of ‘Dire Straits’-the famous band.
The leisure walk turns into a brisk one and within no time we discover ourselves jogging for our living.
We face the Music of Life & the lyrics get distorted to 'JOG of Life', rather than 'the Walk of Life'.
While jogging we get little time to smell the roses around or to hear the sweet chirping birds or even the feel of soothing breeze fails to bring a smile on our faces. And this jog is our Hopson’s Choice, for we feel elated to jog inside huge edifices, breathing conditioned air. Likewise we thank the Omnipotent for our hard earned status, which relaxes our souls when we witness from our Spot less glass cabins/cells, numerous unfortunate Fellow beings sweating out under the sun. We spend most of our hours with our Fortunate Peers inside these Grand Edifices discussing, planning, and implementing myriad strategies. Astonishingly the strategies are mostly planned/implemented, for all the unfortunate fellow beings breathing under the sun outside.
Later in the evening, a couple of hours after the sun had kissed the beloved earth, we put our very important tasks to rest for some hours and pack our bags with a grin on our face to enjoy the remaining hours in Peace.
We get inside the Air Conditioned chambers of our beloved Sedans or SUVs and race back towards our respective Asylums of Solitude. But the journey seems to be a battlefield, where we have to make optimum use of our wits to reach safe & sound; for Darwin advocates the ‘Survival of the Fittest’. And we need to prove our fitness by abusing each other or cursing a fellow being who accidentally jumps in front of our Fast Car (he too is in a hurry to reach his asylum). At times we undergo a Road Bout, exhibiting the power of our Muscles clubbed with 'n' no. of abuses flowing freely from our mouth.
Eventually, we arrive at our much desired destination. A place where we all enjoy the status of a hero or celebrity. We all are at our boastful best, presenting our achievements of the day in front of our tamed & faithful audience. We don’t leave a chance to curse a few of our fellow beings, who sucked the nectar from our moments of joy.
Many of us present ourselves with a glass of an alcoholic beverage. Although to justify the company of an alcoholic beverage is the toughest job on this planet, for its reaction with human emotions results in Motley of circumstances.
Finally, our bodies cry for rest & we think of giving it a break to start a fresh jog for our chosen Elite Edifice. But prior to that, we never forget to curse the educators & the education system and even the Idiot Box for deteriorating morals of our beloved wards. At times the electricity department too gets some derogatory remarks for acting as a 'Spoil Sport' during our favourite Stress buster prior to a sound sleep.
We need to sleep for Peace, so that we can recharge our batteries & give our best to a fresh day awaiting our actions to fill this world with Joy & Glory. The task for which, we have been sent on this Beautiful Planet.

About the Author:Let me start this crisp but informative Profile of mine, by telling you that my parents named me Sumit Sharma to provide me a unique identity among oodles of Homo sapiens.
I cradled on this beautiful planet on 28th day of September in the year 1977 in a small town named Kashipur, in the picturesque state of Uttaranchal; when democracy in our nation witnessed the worst blow in the form of Emergency.
My father Mr. V.K. Sharma, a retired Deputy General Manager from Sugar Industry sent me to Army School for schooling, situated in a Depot area Hempur in Nainital district. Under the worthy tutelage of my revered teachers, I completed my 10+2 in Science stream from the Central Board of Secondary Education in the same year when the Lankan Lions over sprinted the Australian Kangaroos, to lift the cricket World Cup.
My metamorphosis from a teenager to a sensible adult, who could acquire a driving license made me pursue my Graduation in Commerce stream from the D.S.B. Campus, Nainital. The serenity and the charm of the lush green surroundings of Nainital, planted the literary sapling in my heart and I started expressing my emotions in the form of poems, short stories & articles in Black & White.
Since the year 2000 Anno Domini, I am serving mankind as a Pedagogue. After spending the most challenging years of my life in Pedagogy, I found my soul’s appetite hungry for job satisfaction. I could not accept present education system as my purpose to live, destined by the Omnipresent. Thanks to an extremely confusing Education system, where every thing seems to be at sixes & sevens.
A system: where the Patrons & Mentors of Ethics & Morals are themselves a Paradigm of Ethical Destitute. Where a Learner needs to arrange an amount (fee), which could bring him all the comforts in life, he/she desires for. Then, why shall one desire to learn, when all the institutions of learning are advocating acquisition of materialistic wealth!
Do the Mentors/Patrons/Guardians really understand the purpose of education & prosperity? As a result, we are on a \'Baseless Mission\' producing ‘n’ number of Engineers, Doctors, MBAs, Journalists etcetera, who can hardly stand each other\'s presence in the society. Absurdly abusing each other on roads without ever giving a second thought/speaking sarcastically for the system/beating or molesting the Dependent Population/criticizing or making fun of every peer or human being around for one’s funny accent/pronunciation, dressing sense etcetera are one of the favourite activities of present Indians.
Eventually, I gave up the idea of serving these, Conventional Cells of Education.
I started weaving my dreams on paper and the ink of creativity kept on sketching lovely pictures on the canvas of my life. It\'s tough to believe but its true & the biggest one of my life, that today I\'m running my own academy. I\'ve named it INNOVATIVE IMPRESSIONS VOCATIONAL SCHOOL, affiliated to the University of Love & brotherhood.
This Inspiring Academy is a solemn testimony to my life’s ideology and mission. The entire focus of my tailor made curriculum and pedagogical inputs, is to explore the subdued talent of India’s Promising Professionals.
The aspirants shall be duly polished as per their intrinsic skills to attain successful positions in myriad walks of life, leaving Glittering Impressions of their Motivating Personas for the generations to follow.
I know it very well that my tiny academy stands nowhere to all the other big Seminaries in terms of Infrastructure but my ideology & mission run many miles ahead of these.
This challenging period made me explore the opportunities available in a Metropolitan City to display my writing skills as a Freelancer. My Job Profile requires me to write Web content for, Articles focusing the key words for Search engine optimization, matter for Flyers & Brochures, Articles, Books, Directors & Company Profile and even catchy one liner for their ad through mails.
At the same time I keep on writing awakening articles for the very mission of my life, to bring about a radical change in the existing education system. And I consider your web portal an excellent platform for my expressions.

He wants to die young.
By: worriedfriend | 03-08-2008
i've made friends with this very friendly man. as i've got to know him better, i have noticed somethings that do not sound healthy to me such as him wanting to die by the age of 40 max. he doesnt want to get married or have children because he has claimed to have tried it once and things didnt work out. he actually wasnt even really married but just dated this girl for a really really really long time. he doesnt visit the doctor even when he is in severe pain and says that he deserves it. he almost never sleeps and claims that his daily 5 mile run keeps him going... he doesnt really open up. he talks about what has happened, but doesnt express his deep feelings about it. he has been through some great challeneges in life. i feel like there is something he is not over. and im very worried about him. when i try and point out that maybe he needs help or his way of thinking is not normal, he tells me that im wrong because he wouldnt lie to himself or "i love being outside of the norm". it seems as if he is in denial about the whole thing... and also that he is very weak emotionally. he breaks down and takes things very hard. he expresses no hatred or negative feelings towards anyone but god and he claims thats because he would rather god take him away than the people he keeps taking out of this life. it seems as though he is trying to run from the reality of life. i've done research on depression but i havent gotten any real results. i dont know what i could do to help him. i am very worried to a point where im thinking about this situation all the time. i have to find a way to get to him and make him understand. i believe he has been goign through this for a while now, not sure exactly how long. but i know its been over three years for sure. any advice? i am willing to do whatever it takes. and is something even wrong or am i over analyzing the situation? there is a lot more to his behavior than i expressed earlier ... i tried to sum it up to the best of my ability. otherwise he is a very very friendly person. one of those friends that you cant help but cherish. always there. always willing to go out of his way for you. i mean, you couldnt ask for more from a friend. he claims to not have very many close friends and has told me that he considers me one. he is very close with his family and does whatever he could for them. but he says that right now its all about them but later in life "i want to be selfish for once" and that's when he wants to end his life ... i really dont get it... please give me any advice or feedback you may have.
