Psychic Ability is not Mystical or Spooky

In an age where people seem to be looking for things to make them feel special, psychic ability is often represented as a rare “gift” which only a few people have access to. While it’s fair to call heightened awareness and other talents a gift, it’s entirely inaccurate to revere such things as rare or mystical.

The truth is you are psychic. But that alone doesn’t make you unique.

Stay with me:

The ability to know things without any logical basis (and to be correct!) is something we all have. Think honestly and objectively about your own life and you’ll surely find a number of instances where you had a flash of intuition, a strong bad/good feeling, or an unexplained impulse that led you in the right direction.

Sadly, a lot of people will bend over backwards to justify such occurrences as “chance”, “coincidence”, etc. How many times can you have the same experience and just write it off as chance?

Mathematically, the odds of our intuitional experiences being happenstance are extremely slim. In fact it would be more amazing from a statistical or probability point of view if such events turned out to be mere flukes!

Scientists have identified parts of our brain that sense and react to danger, even though we might not even notice this process on the conscious level. Additionally, studies have revealed an amazing commonality in the way our brains work and even synchronize on a regular basis, making it possible for us to know what others are thinking with relative ease.

Do these things qualify as psychic? According to most dictionaries absolutely.

The fact is there are things we can do which are not yet fully explainable by science. Some people seem content to pretend events and phenomena simply do not exist until lab experiments and formal university papers can reconcile them, but this seems like an incredibly limiting way to live.

Manned flight was physically possible before the Wright brothers proved it.

Think about it; the physical laws of nature were not altered in 1903 when the first airplane confirmed the plausibility of this type of travel. The scientific realities that allow planes to cruise through the air today existed before 1903; our species simply couldn’t prove it until that time.

So choosing to pretend that psychic ability isn’t real doesn’t change the facts. This form of denial just allows people who are scared of their own power and upset by notions that violate “normal” thinking to remain comfortable… for now.

I am 17 and when I was 13 I was molested...
By: Miss_Me | 13-07-2008
I am 17 and when I was 13 I was molested by a teacher over the period of a year. I have seen counselors and whatnot but I still don't know the extent of what happened as I (apparently) blocked out memories (eg. only remembering walking into a classroom and then the next thing I know I'll be leaving ten minutes after the bell). I would have panic attacks and nightmares and it would only be then I've get snippets of what happened but I'm doubting my own memory and don't wish to make false claims, if my mind is filling in the blanks incorrectly. Is what he did punishable by law? My school pretty much swept it under the rug because they're seen as an "up there" school and the only thing they did was change my classes and berate him and my parents didn't want me to change schools because of what happened because then "he would have won". I also know that a similar thing happened to a lesser extent to my friend but she was too scared to come forward. Does anyone have any advice? Please? Also, I don't know how to respond properly to sexual contact and have been unable to maintain relationships if the guy moves anywhere past a kiss. I know, in my head, nothing will happen and I'm meant to enjoy it or something but all I can remember is foreign, unwanted hands and feeling absolutely petrified. I know what I'm feeling isn't normal. Help? Also, I don't know how to shake off the stigma that's been attached to me as I told one of my "friends" in confidence why I had changed classes and she told a skewed version of it and now people think I am "an attention seeking, manipulative slut" (their words) and the idea has stuck since then. Any idea how I can set them straight without spilling my personal life? Any advice appreciated.I know this is long - I'm really sorry, but I've never been able to ask anonymously for help before and this isn't even the half of it :(Thanks for any advice, in advance :)
