A lot of other disasters were predicted on the Mayan calender that never came true. Though we can't be for sure, it would be foolish not to look further into the secrets of 2012. The Mayans had incredible mathematic and astronomy skills. They created a calender with 3500 years and a seperate mathematical calculator. It definitely makes you take a second look. People have been claiming the end of the world for years, not only 2012.  Maybe that means people as they are today will be gone. Humanity may undergo a drastic change. The whole world is being affected by the troubles with the economy. If we survive global warming could humans evolve into something else? Maybe our society is already dying or dead. Will the war in Iraq and overseas finally end? Maybe we finally realize that we don't need money everybody should just live equal. There are people who believe aliens or some other lifeforms will return to earth in 2012 and reveal all the secrets we have been wondering. Maybe these are just stories to keep people hopeful that they have something to look forward to. Truly, we won't know what will really happen in 2012 until it gets here.
