When it comes to black and white inkjet photo paper, there are two contenders and each has its plus points. These are resin coated photo paper and fibre based photo paper.
A high percentage of people opt to use resin coated photo paper because of the speed at which it dries, its improved dimensional stability, and the fact that it does not curl upon drying. However, on the other hand you have a group of dedicated users of fibre based photo paper because of its clear and crisp finish.

Another factor that divides the two groups is the finish of the end print those in the fibre based photo paper camp say they prefer their paper of choice because of its clear and crisp finish as well as its quality surface. Those in the resin coated photo paper camp prefer their paper of choice because it is capable of good tonal range.
There are many plus points for each of the types of inkjet photo paper. The best way to decide for yourself is to try each of the types and see which works for you.
