If you are one of the increasing number of people who opt for cosmetic surgery to stay looking that little bit younger you can help to extend that new look by taking the following steps to care for your skin.
· Sun protection – make sure you use a day moisturiser with a minimum protection level of 15spf to ensure you don’t allow free radical damage from sun exposure to age your skin more quickly. Between 85-90% of what we consider to be natural aging of the skin is in fact damage caused by sun exposure.
· Water – Make sure you drink at least 2.5 litres of water each day as dehydrated skin can age quicker than more plump hydrated skin. This is especially important in hot weather when your skin is more liable to receive damage.
· Exfoliate – Removing dead surface skin with the use of a good exfoliator a few times a week will allow the new skin to shine through giving you that fresher look. As the exfoliator effectively damages the top layer of skin it causes the skin to repair which is the process needed to keep on top of those fine lines. You can get a more impacting effect by having an acid peel which can effectively take 10 years off the age of your face by removing sun damage and fine lines in the top layers of the skin.
· Expression lines – help keep on top of naso-labial lines (the lines that extend from the nose down to the sides of the mouth) by spelling out the vowels A, E, I, O, U in a slow and pronounced manner to effectively exercise the muscles. To keep on top of those pesky frown lines above the bridge of the nose and between the eyes, make sure you wear sunglasses in bright conditions to ensure you don’t squint. Both of these tips can be especially good to maintain the look of cosmetic surgery procedures such as face lifts and more minor procedures such as chemical peels.
· To give your skin that extra bit of protection make sure you eat plenty of food packed with free radical fighting anti-oxidants such as fresh green veg and dark fruits.
These tips will ensure that your skin is well maintained and your look that little bit fresher. This is especially important if you have employed cosmetic surgery to peel away the years of damage – after all, it would be a shame to spoil that new look.
Maintaining your skin after cosmetic surgery can help to ensure that fresh look lasts that little longer.
cosmetic surgery can help reverse damage done to your skin over many years and help you stay looking younger for longer.
