Science used to be quite cruel. Those who sought beauty had to pay the price through invasive plastic surgery or liposuction. Fortunately, Intense Pulsed Light treatments (IPL) and VelaShape now eliminate the need for these dangerous procedures.
Plastic Surgery

It required general anesthesia, used a six millimeter cannula or stainless steel tube to siphon out fat and resulted in excessive blood loss and, at times, death. The subsequent tumescent technique, which was supposed to be an improvement, uses local anesthesia and a three millimeter cannula with holes punched in the skin for post-operative drainage. It is still quite invasive.
