The Pros and Cons of Breast Surgery

It is no secret that many women are unhappy with the size or shape of their breasts. Breast enhancement surgery is the only permanent solution for women who want to change the size and shape of their breasts. However, before you undergo surgery you need to examine the pros and cons of going under the scalpel to enhance the size of your breasts.

Advantages

One of the biggest advantages to undergoing breast enhancement surgery is the boost in confidence and self esteem. If you have been living with the constant feeling that your breasts are inadequate and unattractive, and suddenly you find your breasts to your liking, your self esteem and confidence can sky rocket. Many women find that with their increased self esteem and breast size they attract more attention from the opposite sex. This can be a positive for women who appreciate men's attention.

Women with small breasts can often feel like finding clothes that fit well and are flattering are impossible to find because most clothing is styled for women with larger breasts. Once these women undergo the surgery, shopping can be a wonderful experience. Clothes that they could have only dreamed of wearing in the past now look great.

Almost all women dread buying a swimsuit, this is even more true for most women who desire bigger breasts. Since a flattering bathing suit top can be impossible to find. Swimsuit season can be something to look forward to when you feel confident in your bathing suit because of your surgery.

Disadvantages

It is no secret that a woman who has undergone a breast enhancement surgery will most likely receive more attention from men than she has in the past. However, some women who have undergone breast enhancement surgery have disliked the extra attention they receive because of their new breasts. Before you undergo the surgery you should ask yourself how you would feel if men were paying more attention to your breasts than in the past.

Women who have a significant other should realize it is also important to ask your partner how he will feel if other men are paying attention to your new breasts. You may be surprised by your partner's answer, some men actually like when other men notice their significant other, while other men may become unreasonably jealous. It is not uncommon for a breast enhancement to interfere with a relationship for this reason. An open dialogue will prevent your new breasts from becoming an issue in your relationship.

Sometimes women who have lived with small breasts feel the need to overcompensate when they under a breast enlargement surgery. These women will get breasts that are too large for their frame and end up regretting their decision. To make sure you are not one of these women, ask your doctor if he feels you will look natural with the breast size you are considering. Once you have decided on the size, wear a padded bra that will make you look as you will after your surgery. Go about your regular day with your enlarged breasts and see how you feel with them. This will give you an idea of how you will feel with your new breasts.
