As a spiritual-futurist, I interpret current events in light of possible macro-universal forces at play leading up to 2012, but not limited to it.
All of a sudden the poles for John McCain are starting to dip and those for Barack Obama are going up. What's up with that? Could it be the the American public is a bit more civil and generous in their opnion of people who are different than them? Could it be that the negative campaiging, which hit a zelous high last week for McCain and Palin, isn't working?
With just three weeks before the election and momentum missing from the McCain ticket, it was obvious that Sarah Palin was sent out last week to beat the drums of fear. Her opeing salvo was that Obama was "palling around with terrorists"- and then it got louder and more vicious. The questions were asked in dark undertones, "Who is the real Obama"? Who is "that one"?
THAT ONE?
Yes, the one with the MUSLIM name. The one with terrorists conenctions. The one tied to ACORN that cheats and registers fraudulent voters. The BLACK ONE who comes from Jeremiah Wright's church, who scares the hell out of white folks who don't understand black church culture. Yes, THAT ONE! And as a result of McCain and Palin hammering the BLACK TERRORIST undertones, words from his supporters last week were, "traitor, treason, kill him, and off with his head".
It got so bad that on Friday, McCain saw what was happening and had to back off claiming Barack was a RESPECTABLE candiate, to which boos ensued.
Frank Rich nailed it in his Sunday New York Times Op-Ed when he wrote, "What has pumped up the Weimar-like rage at McCain-Palin rallies, is the violent escalation in rhetoric, especially (though not exclusively) by Palin. Obama "launched his political career in the living room of a domestic terrorist." He is "palling around with terrorists" (note the plural noun). Obama is "not a man who sees America the way you and I see America." Wielding a wildly out-of-context Obama quote, Palin slurs him as an enemy of American troops.
By the time McCain asks the crowd "Who is the real Barack Obama?" it's no surprise that someone cries out "Terrorist!" The rhetorical conflation of Obama with terrorism is complete. It is stoked further by the repeated invocation of Obama's middle name by surrogates introducing McCain and Palin at these rallies. This sleight of hand at once synchronizes with the poisonous Obama-is-a-Muslim e-mail blasts and shifts the brand of terrorism from Ayers's Vietnam-era variety to the radical Islamic threats of today."
Remember when McCain said that he would not run a negative campaign and that he would campaign with dignity and honor? Somewhere he lost his "honor compass" and has drifted into very dangerous waters- for America!

By: Nui Kahuna | 01/01/2010There are those who will say that it isn’t poor little Janet’s fault that she can’t find her ample ass with four sets of eyes and three pair of hands. She has the damnable itch that just won’t go away, the itch being those quirky jihadists that are seemingly immune to every powder, cream, and lotion the Obama administration wants to use in order to make everything soothingly calm.
