For a year now, Bloomberg has said he wasn't running for President. For a year now his aides have said he wouldn't consider it until we knew who the two parties would nominate as their presidential choices. If ever we DID NOT know who each party was going to select I would say that it's now after New Hampshire. So, what's Bloomberg doing?
But, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has begun detailed polling and highly sophisticated voter analysis in all 50 states as he considers an independent bid for president, associates said Wednesday. The exhaustive data collection quietly started months ago, and when the analysis begins shortly, it will provide the data-obsessed billionaire businessman with the information he will use to decide whether to launch a third-party run for the White House.
And now we know what I've been saying for a year. He's interested!
New Yorkers aren't all that excited about his interest though. Some recent polling (can anyone count on polling after New Hampshire)? Fifty-two percent of New York City voters say Mayor Michael Bloomberg would make a good president but only 34 percent would vote for him, a poll released on Wednesday said. By several measures, the Quinnipiac University poll showed less than majority support for a Bloomberg presidential campaign by voters who twice sent him to City Hall and still give him a 73 percent approval rating. Just sixteen percent would like to see Bloomberg run for the White House, the poll said.
Wonder if he cares about that poll?
The scope of the research, details of which were revealed to The Associated Press, demonstrates how seriously Bloomberg is considering running for president, despite his almost-daily denials that he isn't entering the race. The extensive coast-to-coast research effort shows that Bloomberg is willing to dig deep into his wallet simply to gauge his chances of winning and lining up the proper support network along the way.
And his wallet is deep too!
And that's one of the things that make him such a formidable candidate. He can throw a HALF BILLION of his own money in the pot and not miss it. And guess what? The theme of CHANGE that seems to be resonating with the American public to the point where everyone is using it, is exactly what Bloomberg would represent. A major change- to a third party candidate!

Perpetrating a Fraud Already! Next!

Does Linda Unruh have a drivers license and insurance? If she has been married for 5 years drivers licenses have to be renewed every 4 years and my insurances all renew annually? Looks like Robles has caught Linda Unruh perpetrating a fraud and since she is an attorney she should know the law as well or even better. Don't Attorneys have to hold themself to a higher standard? I really have a problem when people try to take advantage of our system because they are married to someone. This is no different then when white males who own companies turned 51% of their company over to their wives and then try to claim they are a woman owned business.. The only thing I should ask Linda Unruh is why did it take you so long to accept your married name especially now that she's running for public office? Suddenly it is so important to announce to the world you married a Latino? Doesn't seem she was too proud of the name before. Please dont insult our intelligence!!! You can not just turn on an off a switch to be Caucasian one day then Latina the next!!! We are in a most serious drought and one thing I have always read in this paper about Robles on water is that he's an expert and in a very special area ground water! I don't know of any instance that he has been accused of a public breach while carrying out his responsibilities on the water board. It seems he is actually the go to person the paper uses on most water district matters they write on. Not a time to go with a freshman. Unruh apeears to be running just to get into politics. Next!

Can a Coming Energy Crisis Top the Wall Street Disaster?
By: Klaus H Hemsath | 11/10/2008
The recent Wall Street disaster reminds us that citizens cannot trust industry. Greed has invaded the most profitable companies to an unacceptable and destructive degree. US citizens must consider the banking crisis as a wake up call for preventing the oil and energy industries from creating an even more destructive energy catastrophe. We must outlaw fossil fuels and begin to produce renewable fuels for keeping the US secure.

It's not the Surge
By: Mike Mittelman | 09/10/2008
There is a belief that we are winning "The War on Terrorism" and that our success is due to recent troop surges in Iraq. The entire invasion and occupation of Iraq has been one continuing troop surge that caused no change or slow down in Terrorist activity. It's not the Surge that's responsible for the slowdown in Terrorist activity.
