wide-lens talks politics but does not dig them.
No matter how you look at it, politics were, are, and always will be deceptive.
The question remains; who is the least deceptive? The whole fight is over your trust. Whoever sells best, and builds confidence, wins the voter.
McCain will mend fences with them too, for that’s his political compass. Sniffing something appetizing in the air his shadow buddy, Lieberman, sticks to his master in hope of getting a piece of the pie.
What are we conserving? I don’t care what is the shelve life of a conserve. I want something fresh and new, lest I get senile and forget that times have changed. Give diplomacy, logic, intelligence, and wisdom a chance.
Corporate giants love Republicans and those that love those corporate giants will dance to their tune, for even the corporate giants must have a front man… or a woman, who will show a pious face to the unsuspecting public. In the public eye, they can pooh-pooh even on themselves as long as the profit machine keeps churning… after all they must stay hidden behind their billions.
Screw the fresh-produce farmer; we’ve got the conserve.
In this political world having a public go-getter is a nice thing.
Why the formerly independent McCain turned Republican, and why Joe Lieberman slowly transits this way too is obvious.

Policeman – A stranger in his own community
By: Farman Nawaz | 15/11/2009Why a man in police uniform belonging to our own community stands like a stranger? Whether it is raining, hot summer or freezing winter, this man is always there holding a rifle. No body bothers to ask him how are you? On the last Eid ul Fither a policeman standing outside a mosque, started weeping while talking to TV reporter that no body greeted me at this holy day. When the same reporter met with the high official of Police, he also could not control his expression of grief.
African Bureaucracies
By: Artur Victoria | 15/11/2009The context in many African countries (among others) is not conducive to successful bureaucracies. For example: Information and evaluation are scarce and expensive, which inhibits internal and external controls. Information-processing skills are weak at both the individual and institutional levels, due for example to low levels of education and few...
Organizing Workshops to Design Anti-Corruption Strategies
By: Artur Victoria | 15/11/2009High-level participatory diagnoses have proved remarkably fruitful in generating frank analyses of sensitive policy issues, leading to suggestions for remedial measures. But sometimes there is no carrot or stick to keep that momentum moving. The dividing line between "willing" and "unwilling" leaders is not as precise as journalistic accounts may make...
Fight Against Corruption - After Deterrence Comes the Structural Changes
By: Artur Victoria | 15/11/2009A campaign against corruption must be credible. The public has grown cynical. Citizens and bureaucrats have heard all the words before. They have even seen a few minor prosecutions. But the culture of corruption remains, especially the feeling of high-level impunity. As a result, people feel that awful sense of...
Anti-Corruption Strategies
By: Artur Victoria | 15/11/2009Anti-corruption strategies must go beyond blanket condemnations. Privately, at least, one must be very shrewd about where to begin and how. One must involve local people in the analysis of the costs and benefits of various kinds of corruption in international business transactions in the country in question. When deciding...
Applications to Country Programs Against Corruption
By: Artur Victoria | 15/11/2009A campaign against corruption must go beyond words, indeed beyond new laws. Institutional adjustment is needed to limit the scope of corruption (and more generally, to enhance efficiency). A rough formula holds: we will tend to have corruption when there is monopoly plus discretion minus accountability. Therefore, by "structural reforms" we...
The Right to Vote, a Patriotic Gift
By: Steven E Coffman | 14/11/2009How much do you appreciate your right to vote? Did you know that there are no laws for "the right to vote" in our United States Constitution? Throughout American history, many average citizens like you and me fought for this right, and in some cases, even died for the right to vote!
Cigna Health Insurance Industry Whistle Blower Perseveres
By: Kate Loving Shenk | 14/11/2009What do we do about the Employer Based Healthcare system? Certainly reforming the Health Insurance Companies is a joke. Single Payer is the only answer! This article was originally published in Op-Ed News, 10/21/09
Now That the Race is Over
By: Wide-lens | 06/11/2008 | PoliticsWhen the race is over and the president elect must show his chops, and staff his cabinet with well-able team of people; McCain should give rest to politics. After all how many times the man can run and lose. You have to really admire the man for his determination.

Patriotism of the Americas by Wide Lens
By: Wide-lens | 08/09/2008 | PoliticsPatriotism is not a Republican thing. Minorities in the US struggled with prejudice of those that settled earlier. Is patriotism white as if no other member of the national community can be as patriotic as the Catholic Irish for example?
