What We Need is Real Peace, not the Fake Kind Most People Want

I would like to know where the REAL peace people are; what has happened to those true lovers of peace? If you are anti-war, you are NOT a lover of peace. If you are one of those yelling, “no WMDs found, we shouldn’t be in Iraq”; you then are no lover of peace. If you are one of those who say leave it to the UN, you are definitely no lover of peace.
Remember the old Jackie DeShannon song lyrics, “What the world needs now, is love, sweet love, not for some, but for everyone.” Everyone! Everyone…not just those in the USA. Real peace is NOT the absence of war; it is the absence of threat. Sadly, it often takes war to remove threat. This is not a war for oil, nor for the WMD hunt, nor even payback for 9-11, of which most people seem to have forgotten…by the way, do you realize we lost more people at 9-11 than at Pearl Harbor! This is a war about good and evil.
The USA has fought to free millions and we’ve saved million of lives; we are a good country, yet many within our borders will strive to condemn us. Saddam Hussein killed hundreds of thousands; when the US went in, he was killing an average of 5,000 a month, men, women and children. You people who say we shouldn’t be there, I want you to go talk to those Iraqi families and tell them you don’t want to be bothered about the deaths they are incurring. In the Bible, what did the Good Samaritan do? He got involved. The UN looked the other way for 14 years while Saddam killed his own people at an average of 60,000 a year; the UN is doing the same thing now in the Sudan. If you are a Christian, how can you look the other way?
It was Edmond Burke who said, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” This is a fight between good and evil; shame on you if you are only into politics, if you take some party line on this issue…people are dying out there by the thousands, and yes, some are our own. Our Armed Forces are the real peacekeepers; they are the heroes! They and their families are paying the price…and you want to play politics? …Shame on you!
Peace and freedom, not just for us, “not for some, but for everyone”. 4,000 died in our own war for freedom; wasn’t it worth it? Our Declaration of Independence says that all people have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness; I know that document was directed to the people in the new USA, but why not open it up to all those wishing to live their lives in peace? You cannot pursue happiness when you are under threat. In the recent first free elections ever in Afghanistan, 90% of the people voted under rocket fire, risking their lives to vote for the first time…they thought it was worth it. We are helping them to be free. How many do you suppose will vote in our upcoming elections? 90%? …and how many will understand the REAL truth about what the war on terrorism is REALLY about?

My Great Disappointment Has Ended By: 104inc.com | 06/10/2008 Last week was the vice-presidential debate and neither of the candidates made any major blunders. You just have to wonder how many of the people who tuned into the debate were waiting for either candidate to screw up. This totally ruined my fun for the evening. I was hoping for one of the funnier sitcoms of the year.
