President Obama made another speech trying to reach the American people with his proposed health care plan. The burning question in everyones mind is, how are we going to pay for this trillion plus dollar plan?
The answer is, Uh! I don't know, Congress doesn't know and the President doesn't know. So who can answer this question? No body seems to know how this will be paid for and the President continues to tip toe around these questions. Maybe pushing something through without thought once again is the Presidents plan, but this would be a catastrophe to The US and the already overly inflated economy.
I, as well as the majority of Americans don't want to see anymore spending by the Government, but it seems that like the stimulus, the powers that be do not care. After the Presidents speech, he was asked some tough questions and we again looked for him for answers and what we got was what we have been getting on a consistent basis for the last few months. A long drawn out mini speech going around the question making a statement based on his own opinion as to what the country needs and that we need to do something. I think most Americans can agree with the President on this matter, the issue is not that we need to do something or that something should have been done a long time ago, if you remember the Bush administration tried to get a health care bill passed through the liberal left Congress and it was shot down.
I am not saying that Bush's policy would have been better or that it should have been pushed through, what I am saying is the liberals need to stop hiding the truth and just focus on what we should do now and not push a bill that will further hurt this country financially.
Yes it has been a long time coming, but to push another huge expense on the American people when the unemployment rate is at an all time high at 9.4% and the stimulus was supposed to not have that number raised past 8%. With that said, how can we trust a government that was so far off base with the economy. Obama stated that his stimulus created 150,000 new jobs, what he didn't tell you is that with those jobs created there were 1.4 million more jobs lost.
This is the biggest problem with this President, he gives the great sounding facts and leaves out the negative pieces, and with the main stream media basically pushing his agenda, A lot of Americans only see the main stream media bias to make up their minds. I guess it is good that Fox news dominates the ratings war as it shows that more Americans are waking up. Poles show the President still has a relatively high rating of 59.4% even with the current economy down fall but it's slowly dropping. His liberal Congress only has a 36% approval rating and 57.6% of Americans believe the country is heading in the wrong direction.
During the Presidents answer session after the speech, he mentioned a couple times that others opinions are just that, opinions and that he's the President! He was asked a question in regards to Senator McCain's comments about the health care plan, and the Presidents response to that was a ridiculous remark stating again that although he respects those opinions, ( Yeah, OK!) He is the President. "Yes Mr.Obama, you are the President. But do you remember this? We are the people!"
