Having a healthy pregnancy requires taking good prenatal care of you. This is important and the earlier you start, the better. Start off by planning your pregnancy. Folic acid helps the baby’s spine, brain and skull to form healthily. Eat green leafy vegetables and fruits, iron rich food like spinach, food rich in calcium such as milk and yoghurt. Also, avoid living life on the wild side, don’t drink alcohol, smoke or do drugs. They can seriously harm your baby.
History Of Family Illness
Relax it’s a special time for you and your partner. Exercise together, do deep breathing exercises, some yoga and some walking or swimming. Ask your partner to visit the doctor with you at preconception. If there is a family history of some illness or genetic condition, this is the best time to discuss it. Your doctor may also recommend a pill free break, before you try to conceive to enable the effects of the hormones to be eliminated from your body.
If You Are In Your Late Thirties
If you are in your mid or late thirties, the risk in a pregnancy increases, high blood pressure and gestational diabetes could be a problem in older pregnant women. Visit your doctor for regular checkups, to avoid any unwanted incidences during pregnancy period.
