My name is Christy and I am the proud mother of 6 and proud wife of 1.
I was a simple mother. Loved taking care of my four children. Having a wonderful and loving husband. I love my family. I was right where I wanted to be in life. Then it happened.......
My husband and I found out we were pregnant with our fifth child. We were excited but worried cause we really didn't want anymore children. After all, it is only reasonable in this day and age to feel like four children is enough. But we were very happy and hoping for a boy since we only had one boy and the rest girls. Then the third month came upon us.
During the third month of my pregnancy I realized that my tummy was getting bigger and bigger. I didn't know what to think. My husband was sitting on the back porch when I approached him and made the comment, "There better be only one in here Mr. Lowe". Of course I was joking and really thought there was just one. But we made a doctors appointment to be seen right away.
At my doctors appointment I was nervous. Right away my docotor looked at me and said she thought there might be more than one. She had me lay down on the table/bed and she listened for heartbeats. Everywhere she went on my stomache she heard a heartbeat. When she heard four of them she said she wasn't going to listen anymore. She had us go next door to the hospital right away for an emergency ultrasound.
The young lady giving me my ultrasound was very nice but she didn't let me see the monitor. I thought that was strange. Then she asked me if twins run in mine or my husbands family. Just so happens that my husband has twin aunts and so do I. So we told her yes and then she turned the monitor. We saw two of everything. Two heads, two bodies, and the amazing two heartbeats. I cried and was shocked. I got use to the idea faster than my husband. For weeks he would just look at me and say "Honey, twins". Okay, he was very shocked. But he snapped out of it and became very excited and we both became very proud.
Now our twins are 3 years old and they are identical. I still have a hard time telling them apart. But believe me when I say I am the proudest Mommy of 6 children in the world cause they are my world. I didn't want more children after our fourth, but now, I wouldn't change a thing.
