An Introduction to the Powis Parker Fastback 15xs Binding Machine

The Fastback 15xs binding machine is one of the most innovative binding systems available on the market today. In fact, the Powis Parker 15xs is designed to meet all of your document-binding needs. This article will provide you with an introduction to the Fastback 15xs binding machine.

Lets start with what makes the Fastback binder so great...

1.First and foremost, it's easy to use. You can operate it by simply following the steps in the display window. Unlike combs, coil, wire or Velobind you don't need to punch the pages of your document. All you need to do is assemble your pages, insert the book into the machine, feed a strip into the side of the machine and your book will be bound. You can use your own printed covers or you can buy special Fastback covers. No other binding system is easier or faster.

2.Second, it's flexible. You can bind documents of up to 350 pages, in all sorts of lengths, with all kinds of paper. You can also rearrange, add, or remove pages of a previously-bound book by using the EDIT features described in this manual. Many other binding systems require you to carry a huge assortment of supplies for virtually every thickness of document that you bind. The fastback system uses three different widths: narrow, medium and wide. This means you don't need to worry about carrying a huge variety of binding supplies. Narrow spines bind documents up to 1/2", medium spines bind documents up to 1" and wide spines bind documents up to 1-1/2". The Fastback 15xs can also do a number of different styles of binding including tape binding, perfect binding, notepad creation, hardcover binding and even photobook binding.

3.Third, the Fastback binder is dependable. When you need something bound, it gets the job done, time and time again, producing professional, great-looking books. The 15xs comes with a 1 year warranty on parts and labor and there is a great network of dealers across the country that can provide support, maintenance, service or upgrades on your machine if they become necessary.

When you order a new Fastback 15xs, there are number of important things that are included in the box with the machine. You get the obvious accessories including the power cord, cooling rack, users manual and plastic book fence. However, you also get a number of other helpful accessories. You will receive an oven mitten (heat protective glove) and wire tweezers in case you need to remove a hot strip from the machine. You will also receive a color fan of of SuperStrip binding strips and Comp binding strips. This will help you choose the right color of spine for your documents. You even receive an entire box of assorted binding strips so that you can learn to bind documents with your new machine and can try some of the different colors without having to buy a whole box of 100 strips.

Setting up the machine only takes a few minutes. You simply take it out of the box and set it on your counter. Place the plastic book fence on the top of the machine, unpack the cooling rack and plug the 15xs into the wall. It doesn't really get much easier than that. Once you turn on your machine all you need to do is wait for it to warm up and you will be ready to bind your first document. It is really just that easy.
