RALEIGH, N.C. – November 25, 2009: “Imus In The Morning” will return to the Triangle airwaves Monday, Dec. 1 at 6am on 620 The Bull - WDNC. McClatchey Broadcasting, which operates 620 The Bull, announced in October that renowned talk show host Don Imus would be making a return to morning radio in the Triangle. Now, the new launch date has been made official. The “Imus In The Morning” program will air from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. Mon-Fri.
“Imus In The Morning” previously aired on McClatchey Broadcasting’s 850 The Buzz - WRBZ for more than eleven years. During it’s tenure in the market, Imus In The Morning was one of the Triangle’s longest running morning radio programs and one of the markets highest-rated morning shows with a target demographic of men aged 25-54.
“The response to Imus returning to the Triangle has been huge,” said McClatchey Broadcasting General Manager Brian Maloney. “Listeners and advertisers are anxious to get “Imus In The Morning” back on the air, and that factored in to us accelerating the start date to Dec. 1. We look forward to the show once again becoming a staple of morning drive time in this region.”
