GAO RFID INC. Announces Breakthrough GEN 2 RFID Wristband

GAO RFID Inc. has developed a GEN 2 RFID Wristband. The GEN 2 RFID Wristband is the first of its kind. The wristbands are constructed from 100% pure non-allergenic silicone and designed using ISO 18000-6 compliant inlays.

The GEN2 RFID Wristband addresses the need for an on the wrist RFID tag that has a generous read range especially suited for patient care and tracking in healthcare environments. GAORFID teamed with two other Canadian companies to produce this next generation solution. They are fabricated with state of the art micro-machining techniques and unique patented processes. The GEN2 RFID Wristband will push the healthcare industry into the age of silicone wristband technology, bringing performance and innovation that allows new applications for patient care and tracking. Because the GEN 2 RFID Wristbands are made of silicone they are comfortable, non-allergenic and hygienic.

Test results of the GEN 2 RFID Wristband were calculated using the Sirit 510 RFID reader. Read distances varied based on body type and ranged from a maximum of 8.8 feet (2.7 meters) to a minimum of 4.2 feet (1.3 meters). The average read distance during testing was 6.3 feet (1.9 meters).

The GEN2 RFID Wristband will go into production QII 2008. Contact GAO RFID for pricing and availability.
