SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - October 22, 2009) - Daptiv, the on-demand leader in collaborative business software, announced today that FVW Mediengruppe of Hamburg, Germany has chosen Daptiv PPM to manage the execution of its new strategic growth initiatives. FVW Mediengruppe is Germany's leading travel industry media group with more than 40 years of expertise in tourism, publishing such widely known and recognized magazines as TravelTalk, Urlaub Perfekt, BizTravel and fvw.
In recognizing a huge opportunity to leverage its Web site more effectively, FVW created strategic initiatives around content creation and platform launches. After evaluating more than 25 software vendors, FVW selected Daptiv for its intuitive user interface, ability to provide insight into business challenges and its SaaS delivery model.
"We'll be using Daptiv PPM as a tool to help answer critical questions and needs that are important to the business -- we're constantly thinking of ways to leverage Daptiv PPM to its fullest potential," said Johannes Leistner, portfolio manager at FVW Mediengruppe.
Leistner explained, "Because of our wide range of users -- from team members to the CEO, usability was incredibly important to us. We assessed the user interface designs of a wide range of software options in order to see which ones were intuitive; we needed a tool that people could pick up easily without a lot of structured training."
FVW worked with CIANS AG for a smooth transition to Daptiv. According to Leistner, "It's wonderful to be able to have a Daptiv resource here in Germany where we're in the same time zone."
FVW didn't want to dedicate internal resources or time to support their new collaboration software and also wanted to avoid hardware costs, so finding a SaaS vendor was an important priority. The company used on-demand delivery as one of its required features in order to narrow its selection and ultimately pick Daptiv.
Top benefits of Daptiv PPM for FVW Mediengruppe:
-- Provides a centralized location to track all planned and unplanned projects. Users no longer need to spend time searching for information within Excel spreadsheets in numerous locations. -- Improves visibility into tasks, resources and project status. The latest project information is available in real-time. -- Offers a better foundation for project management processes and strategic learning processes.
"Innovative companies like FVW Mediengruppe are pushing the collaboration and project management market to provide solutions that make sense for today's businesses," said Tim Low, vice president of marketing at Daptiv. "Germany is a great market for tools like Daptiv that boost collaboration and dramatically improve efficiency, and we're finding a lot of traction among forward-looking German companies."
Daptiv also recently exhibited at the PM Forum 2009 in Berlin on October 14 and 15. Click here for more information: http://www.pm-forum.de/index.php?id=214&L
