Green Offices On The Agenda At easyFairs

Sustainable office design specialist Lara Conaway is a guest speaker at easyFairs Interior Fit Out event later this month.

Lara is speaking at the exhibition’s Sustainability Learnshop, at 12 noon, on Wednesday, April 29.

Her talk, entitled ‘Economical Sustainable Refurbishment and the Role of the UKGBC,’ looks at the viability of making green the country’s existing commercial building stock – including sustainable office refurbishment.

Lara will also explore how the UK Green Building Council is helping to support the change towards green office environments.

BREEAM and EPC ratings, building maintenance programmes and current legislation will also be covered.

Held at London’s Excel, the easyFairs Interior Fit Out takes place on the 29th and 30th April.

The free-to-attend exhibition will encompass the total supply chain of specialist interior fit-out and refurbishment services for the retail, commercial office, public sector, hospitality and leisure sectors.

Lara Conaway, sustainability manager at office design and fit out company Morgan Lovell, said: “Many companies have in the past looked to move when faced with the task of updating an ageing office environment to 21st century specifications.

“To realistically create more cost-effective, green offices, we need to make better use of the reuse concept of sustainability and convert the building stock we already have in a more environmentally friendly manner.”
